Senior Solutions Engineer
At Digital Onboarding, we're on a mission to help banks and credit unions deepen relationships with their members. Our award-winning engagement platform empowers financial institutions to deliver personalized digital experiences that drive adoption, loyalty, and growth. Over 170 banks and credit unions trust us to transform how they engage account holders — and we’re just getting started.
We’re looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join our high-impact Solutions team. In this pivotal role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor and technical expert, partnering with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to deliver solution-driven experiences that help us close new business and ensure customer success. You’ll contribute directly to strategic deals, build scalable solution assets, and bridge the gap between product capabilities and real customer needs.
What You’ll Do
Pre-Sales Technical Support
- Partner with sales executives throughout the sales cycle to communicate our value proposition via custom demos, solution architecture diagrams, and technical validation.
- Design and prototype integrated solutions that address customer pain points, leveraging APIs, webhooks, and iPaaS workflows (Tray.io strongly preferred).
- Lead technical conversations around data connections (SQL queries, SFTP, APIs, Webhooks), security protocols (OAuth, SAML, JWT, encryption), and implementation feasibility.
- Participate in strategic deal reviews and account planning to bring a solution-driven perspective to high-value opportunities.
- Work closely with the product team to maintain deep knowledge of technical aspects of new features and enhancements.
- Collaborate with Partnerships, Solutions, and Product teams as a subject matter expert (SME) to scope and validate new integration possibilities.
- Build and document sample Tray.io workflows to solve emerging use cases, train the solutions team, and package reusable assets for broader adoption.
- Prioritize and triage solution requests from sales, customer success, and partners to ensure high-impact opportunities are supported.
Solution Development & Field Enablement
- Collaborate with the solutions team to create and maintain modular, customizable demo environments aligned to common customer scenarios.
- Develop demo flows, scripts, and integrations tailored to different market segments, showcasing the full value of our platform.
- Contribute to enablement materials such as technical one-pagers, objection-handling guides, and discovery tools that support the field.
- Train sales and solutions colleagues on demo execution, objection handling, API troubleshooting, and aligning technical value to buyer personas.
Customer & Post-Sale Support
- Document customer requirements and solution designs to ensure seamless handoffs from Sales to Implementation.
- Support pre-sale and early post-sale technical blockers (e.g., data ingress, egress, data flows, security configurations, integration validation) to accelerate customer time to value.
- Help refine a standardized handoff process between sales and implementations, ensuring consistent documentation and customer delight.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Feedback
- Act as a conduit between the field and internal teams by gathering and sharing customer feedback, market trends, and technical objections.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Product Marketing to influence roadmap, messaging, and solution positioning.
- Share insights with Customer Success to anticipate technical challenges, identify integration opportunities, and drive expansion.
What You’ll Bring
- 5–7 years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role, ideally in a SaaS environment.
- Background in Fintech, or marketing automation is strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of APIs, webhooks, and systems integration, with hands-on experience testing and validating connections using tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
- Knowledge of data ingress and egress methodologies (e.g., SFTP, API payloads, flat files, event-driven webhooks) with a solid understanding of relational databases and SQL querying.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP), particularly concepts such as IAM roles, API Gateways, and secure storage (e.g., S3).
- Experience with iPaaS platforms for building workflows and integrations — Tray.io strongly preferred; Workato, MuleSoft, Zapier, or Make also relevant.
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools (Metabase, Tableau, Looker, or similar) for creating, interpreting, and presenting reports.
- Any programming experience is a huge plus, but not a requirement.
- Strong ability to clearly communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences, with experience creating solution architecture diagrams (e.g., Lucidchart, Miro, or similar).
- Working knowledge of authentication and security protocols (OAuth, SAML, JWT) and secure file transfers (SFTP, encryption standards).
- Ability to scope, document, and communicate technical requirements in Statements of Work (SOWs), Proof of Concepts (POCs), and solution design documentation.
- Demonstrated experience building and delivering compelling product demos tailored to buyer needs and aligned to business value.
- Strong collaboration skills with Sales, Product, Partnerships, and Customer Success teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a structured approach to diagnosing technical issues.
- Customer empathy and a consultative, solution-first mindset.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, events, or team offsites as needed.
