We are a fast-growing fintech company, and we’re looking for a hands-on Controller to own and scale our finance, operations, and HR functions. This person will lead everything from monthly close and payroll to compliance, benefits, and strategic forecasting, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and operational excellence as we continue to grow.
About the Role
The Controller will manage day-to-day financial operations while building scalable processes and systems across finance, HR, and operations. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution - you’ll roll up your sleeves to drive monthly close, payroll, compliance, and employee operations, while also owning long-term planning, reporting, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance & Accounting
- Own all accounting operations, including monthly close, accounts payable, invoicing, payroll, and financial audits
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, ASC 606, and SaaS revenue recognition standards
- Manage non-GAAP metrics & SaaS performance indicators, including ARR, CAC:LTV, burn rate, profitability, and other operational metrics
- Ensure efficient cash flow management, expense control, and capital deployment to support sustainable growth
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning to guide executive decision-making
- Drive monthly and quarterly reporting cadence for the board and investors
- Establish scalable financial processes and internal controls to support the company’s rapid growth
- Oversee state and federal tax and compliance filings
- Operations
- Review, manage, and maintain sales and vendor contracts, ensuring terms are accurate and aligned to business objectives
- Own inventory management, including deployment and retrieval company devices
- Maintain relevant documentation & ensure audit readiness for SOC2 compliance
- Human Resources
- Manage HR operations, including managing offer letters, employee onboarding & offboarding, initiating background checks, and running employee engagement initiatives
- Administer payroll & benefits
- Own employee engagement, including performance reviews and engagement surveys
About You
- 8-12 years of experience in accounting, finance, or operations leadership roles within SaaS, fintech, or high-growth technology companies
- Deep understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and SaaS metrics
- Demonstrated experience managing monthly close, payroll, invoicing, and audits
- Strong understanding of state compliance, SOC2 compliance, and internal controls
- Proven ability to build structure in high-growth environments and ability to balance strategy with execution
- Comfortable owning cross-functional responsibilities in FInance, HR, and Operations
- Exceptional attention to detail, bias towards action, and accountability
